Cookie Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Relation Therapeutics Ltd ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on relationrx.org. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we handle personal data.

relationrx.org is the public-facing site for the Relation Therapeutics single-cell genomics research platform, serving computational biology researchers and drug discovery teams. Our cookie practices are designed to respect the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR: we only set non-essential cookies after you give your prior informed consent.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device across pages or return visits, store preferences, and measure usage. We also use related technologies such as local storage (used by our consent-preference mechanism) and session tokens (used for authenticated platform access).

2. Your Prior Consent (PECR)

We do not set non-essential cookies (analytics, preferences) until you give your prior consent through the cookie banner that appears when you first visit relationrx.org. This is a requirement of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), which apply to all UK-based websites.

Strictly necessary cookies are set without consent because they are required for the core operation of the site and platform. All other categories require your explicit opt-in.

You can change your consent choice at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the site footer, which reopens the consent banner and allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. You may also withdraw consent by clearing your browser cookies, which will reset the stored preference.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

The table below describes the categories of cookies currently used on relationrx.org:

Category Examples Lifetime Legal basis
Strictly necessary Session token, CSRF protection token, cookie-consent preference record Session to 12 months Legitimate interest / contract performance (PECR exemption for strictly necessary)
Preferences Display theme, language or locale preference Up to 12 months Consent
Analytics Self-hosted or privacy-preserving analytics (page view counts, session durations, anonymised usage patterns) Up to 13 months Consent
Marketing Not currently used N/A Consent (would be required if introduced)

Analytics cookies, where consented, collect aggregated data about how researchers interact with pages such as the platform overview, research methodology section, and blog articles. No analytics cookies record the specific scientific queries submitted through authenticated platform sessions.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Where we use third-party analytics providers, those providers act as our processors under Article 28 UK GDPR data-processing agreements. We only enable their cookies after you give your consent. We do not currently use third-party advertising or social-media tracking cookies.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

  • Use our cookie banner (which appears on first visit, or can be reopened via the "Cookie preferences" link in the site footer) to accept all cookies or limit cookies to strictly necessary only;
  • Your browser settings allow you to block or delete cookies at any time. Instructions for common browsers are available at aboutcookies.org. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the operation of authenticated platform features;
  • Browser-transmitted opt-out signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), are honoured for analytics and preferences categories. Where we detect a GPC signal we treat it as equivalent to selecting "necessary only" through the banner.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we change the categories of cookies we use, or introduce new providers, we will update this Cookie Policy and the "Last updated" date above. Where the change involves a new category of non-essential cookie, we will seek renewed consent through the banner before setting those cookies.
